We are besotted with all things wombat. Poop and feet generally are two things that I get excited about. We’re off to do treatment today. We have found so many sick wombats during the course of our work just in the last month that looking at this healthy little baby makes me grateful that she has a chance But we cant keep raising them with no safe areas out there to release so we are doing our bit to try and combat mange at least. All in all it was a 6 hour operation of the team waiting, planning, fashioning equipment from everything we had in our trucks and doing tbe rescue. We haven’t been able to give him consistent consecutive doses and too long passed in between each dose. We were nearby today on another job for the solar farm and thought we can look for him as the sun was just coming out. Forest is alive and doing well. Our newly built burrow in our RSPCA enclosure is small and not t-junctioned so that we can get to them quickly if we need to. The burrow is about 5° cooler than the outside in full sun and much more now that there is shade-cloth over thanks to our handy volunteers and the @rspca_act staff who helped install it yesterday for him.
