India captain Suryakumar Yadav was very pleased after his team executed their plans successfully, leading to a seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the opening T20I on Sunday.

The skipper seemed excited about the long-term prospects of having the country's fastest bowler Mayank Yadav fast-tracked into the international arena and another seam bowling all-rounder Nitish Reddy being inducted into the roster.

Abhishek Sharma, who made his T20I debut for India back in July 2024, showed his prowess with 125 runs from four innings that also included a ton. Abhishek, who had to move down the order to accomodate Yashasvi Jaiswal at the top,

India and Bangladesh will lock horns with each other in the three-match T20I series. India will start the series with the first match at Gwalior on October 6 followed by two more matches – October 9 (Delhi) and October 12 (Hyderabad).

Samson has previously opened the innings five times for India in T20Is, with a highest score of 77. “The second opener is Sanju Samson. He will play, and he will open in the series going forward,” said Suryakumar in the pre-match press conference.
