Weather alert for strong thunderstorms in Southeast Michigan Saturday afternoon – gusts up to 40 mph
The National Weather Service issued a weather alert at 12:22 p.m. EDT on Saturday for strong thunderstorms until 1:15 p.m. EDT for St. Joseph, Branch and Hillsdale counties.
Although tornado season is starting to die down just a bit, Mother Nature remains unforgiving this summer. Since there's a dangerous heat advisory in effect for several states, it's only natural that a few areas will get bombarded with thunderstorms.

A report was issued from the NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC on Saturday at 5:26 p.m. for strong thunderstorms until 6 p.m. The alert is for Madison, Haywood and Buncombe counties.
Severe thunderstorms are moving across the Valley from the west Friday afternoon, with the National Weather Service putting a thunderstorm watch and a heat advisory remaining in place after two separate thunderstorm warnings expired.
On Saturday at 7:38 p.m. a severe thunderstorm warning was released by the National Weather Service in effect until 8:30 p.m. for Lancaster and Lebanon counties.
