In a historic first, the iconic Times Square in New York City became the stage for Durga Puja, a festival deeply rooted in Bengali culture. The celebration, organized by the Bengali Club USA, attracted not only Bengali Americans but also people from diverse communities.

Hindus celebrated Durga Puja, Navrati & Dussehra for the FIRST TIME EVER at New York Times Square on 5th and 6th October 2024. Durga Puja is now a UNESCO recognized Intangible Cultural Word Heritage of Humanity.

The two-day event, organised by The Bengali Club USA, commenced with the traditional Nabami Puja and Durga Stotras, marking the ninth day of the puja. These ceremonies were followed by the Nabami Puja Anjali to the revered Goddess, transitioning to the Dashami Puja where devotees bid farewell to the Goddess.
