Nobel laureate Professor John Hopfield will be returning to campus and on Friday morning, the University will be celebrating him. Princeton University President Christopher L. Two scientists who used physics to help develop methods used to build modern machine learning were honored with the 2024 Nobel Prize in the field.

Hopfield, the Howard A. Prior Professor in the Life Sciences, Emeritus, and professor of Molecular Biology, emeritus, shares the 2024 Nobel Prize with Toronto's Geoffrey E. Hinton.
