Happy Gilmore 2 brings back plenty of beloved characters and some funny antics, but this golf comedy film is still no hole-in-one.

Critics gave the movie lukewarm reviews, criticising its heavy reliance on cameos and lack of originality. Nick Schager at The Daily Beast gave the sequel a ‘Skip This’ rating, describing it as “arguably the least inspired film in the actor’s canon, if not all of movie history”.

The long-awaited sequel to one of Sandler's best-loved comedy hits isn't a hole in one, but its blend of wacky gags and wistful sadness (no, really) sinks some solid shots.
