HANOI (Reuters) -Heavy rains triggered by tropical storm Wipha have caused severe flooding in the central Vietnamese province of Nghe An, killing at least three people and leaving one more missing.

At least six people died and parts of the Philippines were flooded when Tropical Storm Wipha sideswiped the archipelago in July 2025, but videos shared online that purportedly show the disaster are months old.

Tropical Storm Wipha made landfall in northern Vietnam Tuesday, bringing heavy rain and strong winds that knocked out power in parts of Hung Yen Province.
