In a late September detail dubbed “Operation Burnt Out," Atlanta officials and their partners arrested 47 suspects involved with illegal street racing.

Nearly 200 people were arrested over this past weekend as police ran a crackdown on illegal street racing. Operation Burnout carried out by the Columbus Division of Police, resulted in 186 arrests, 69 impounded vehicles,

Brookhaven Supervisor Dan Panico said of car "drifting," incidents, which also allegedly occurred, "I think [police and prosecutors] have to crack down and come down hard on people who do this."
