Trey Parker and Matt Stone addressed controversy surrounding the "South Park" season 27 premiere depicting President Trump's penis while speaking at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday.
Trump ― real-world Trump ― has claimed that Paramount’s new owners will give him $20 million in public service announcements, ads and similar programming as part of the settlement, a claim Paramount has denied. In the cartoon world, Trump gets a similar deal ― and the city of South Park is forced to produce a series of PSAs for him.
In the premiere episode, “60 Minutes” covers the presence of Jesus in South Park’s schools. The co-anchors anxiously describe Trump as “a great man” who is “probably watching,” a clear nod to Paramount settling Trump’s lawsuit against “60 Minutes.”
The algae have poisoned more than 1,737 square miles of the waters, littering beaches with carcasses and ravaging an area known for its diversity.
