NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Mets inducted David Wright into their Hall of Fame and retired his No. 5 on Saturday — nearly 21 years after his big league debut.

The New York Mets allowed David Wright to pass the torch to Francisco Lindor. Wright's No. 5 was retired by the team on July 19 and amongst the festivities was Lindor being named the new team captain. Lindor joins an exclusive group in team history in gaining the honor.
