The next day, the Astros announced that Paredes was going on the ten-day injured list due to a right hamstring strain. They also optioned Cesar Salazar to Triple-A Sugar Land, and recalled Shay Whitcomb and selected Jon Singleton to take their places on the active roster.

Paredes suffered a right hamstring injury during Saturday’s matchup with the Seattle Mariners and was removed from the game. Through an interpreter, he said he will return to Houston tomorrow to be evaluated.
