Michigan, MSU and Rivalry Game

Michigan heads to East Lansing for the biggest game of its season yet on Friday night (8:00 p.m., FOX). The Wolverines haven’t beaten the Spartans since 2023, and haven’t won at the Breslin Center since 2018.
Michigan overcame turnovers, a rough-shooting second half and an 11-point deficit in a 75-72 win to move into a tie for first in the Big Ten.
Offensively, Michigan will need to cut down on the turnover issue that’s sprung up in recent games. Nebraska forced 19 turnovers on Tuesday, an alarming number that limited shot attempts and killed the flow of the Wolverines’ offense at times. Free-throw shooting, another touchy subject of late, will also be critical.
Michigan Football’s passing game should improve next season. Here’s how two transfers and the return of Andrew Marsh will level up Michigan’s pass attack:
Michigan’s football team knew its non-conference games, Big Ten opponents, and, of course, the date of its game against Ohio State, which marks the end of the regular season for both programs on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
Both teams enter the game red hot. Michigan has won five straight since dropping its first (and so far only) game of the season on Jan. 10, highlighted by Tuesday’s heavyweight fight in Ann Arbor. MSU, meanwhile, has won seven in a row — needing overtime on Tuesday at Rutgers, winning 88-79, to keep that streak alive.
The Michigan State men’s basketball team is preparing for its first game of the season against rival Michigan. MSU welcomes Michigan to the Breslin Center on Friday for one of the most highly anticipated games in the history of the rivalry.
