How does XviD compare to the newest AVC H.264 codec, which also has a chance of being included in HD-DVD? If i have a 4GB MPEG-4 file in XviD and AVC, which will have higher quality? I'm guessing AVC, ...
i've been thinking about putting together a linux pvr box however i would prefer real time 640x480 mpeg-4 (divx or xvid) compression at broadcast quality (400MB/hr or so i think, need sugestions).
