Heat relief on the way for the Triad | Heavy rain and a few severe storms possible through Wednesday
Scattered afternoon storms bring the risk of heavy rain this week, and a few may become severe across North Carolina. Temperatures may run below normal as the heat wave eases in the Piedmont Triad, Mountains and Foothills.
The storm system now known as Tropical Depression Two is expected to become Tropical Storm Bertha on Monday, July 20, in the Gulf.
