The Montpelier Post Office held a "soft reopening" at its new location on Monday, Oct. 7, 15 months after flood waters incapacitated the previous U.S Postal Service building and left residents of Vermont's capital city without full mail facilities.

More than a year since it was battered by catastrophic flooding, Montpelier has its post office back. The announcement that the U.S. Postal Service has opened a new full-service facility at 89 Main St.

Fifteen months after devastating flooding in downtown Montpelier, The U.S. Postal Service on Monday officially opened a replacement post office.

A Doncaster Post Office is to close its doors at the end of this month. Parkside Post Office on Beckett Road will shut – with customers being advised of other nearby offices they can use after its closure and with the company issuing an apology to those disrupted by the closure.
