Liverpool are said to want Rodrygo to join their starting forward line and play alongside talisman Mohamed Salah and fellow new signing Ekitike. The Merseyside outfit could even fund the arrival of Rodrygo by selling Luis Diaz, with Bayern Munich linked to the Colombian attacker.

With a fee agreed for striker Hugo Ekitike, the Frenchman now has permission to travel to complete a medical and agree personal terms with Liverpool. Should everything go to plan, the forward could join the Reds squad for their pre-season tour in Asia.
With Liverpool wrapping up a deal for Ekitiké worth a reported €95 million (£82.3 million, $110.5 million), the Reds appear to be out of the race for Isak this summer, while Newcastle’s mammoth price tag of at least £120 million ($161 million) drastically limits the number of teams capable of funding such a deal.
Jamie Carragher, as ever, was ahead of the curve. Liverpool's next test after the impending arrival of Hugo Ekitike may be to resolve the burning issue at the heart of their defence. Whilst they eye one player whose contract is expiring next year, one of their own is in the same position and if not careful the door could be left ajar for his departure.
Reports indicate that after Liverpool secured Hugo Ekitike's signing, Newcastle United have turned their attention to OGC Nice striker Evann Guessand, who is also being pursued by Sunderland.
