Vice President Kamala Harris is expected to meet Friday with a group of Arab American and Muslim leaders in Flint, Michigan, according to three sources familiar with her plans, but frustration over the Harris campaign’s outreach efforts is boiling over amid Israel’s recent escalations in Lebanon.

FLINT, Mich. — Vice President Kamala Harris met with leaders from the Muslim and Arab American community ahead of her campaign rally here on Friday, a campaign official said. During the meeting, Harris heard leaders' perspectives on the election, as well as the wars in Gaza and Lebanon, the official said.

Harris met with leaders from Emgage Action, a Muslim advocacy group that has endorsed her candidacy; the American Task Force on Lebanon; and Hala Hijazi, a prominent Palestinian American activist.

Israel expanded its bombardment in Lebanon, hitting Beirut's southern suburbs with airstrikes and striking a Palestinian refugee camp in northern Lebanon.

The operation could begin "immediately," according to a senior U.S. official. Israel is firing strikes into Lebanon as the conflict in the Middle East intensifies. Israel believes it has eliminated around 30 top Hezbollah leaders over the last several weeks,
