Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta could almost forgive his side for going a goal down to struggling Southampton as it brought out the best in winger Bukayo Saka, who scored one goal and made two more in their 3-1 Premier League home win on Saturday.

Arsenal secured another dramatic victory against newly promoted opposition as they beat Southampton 3-1. The game got off to a strong start for the Gunners who subjected Saints to lengthy and relentless pressure.

Southampton ’s joy in Cameron Archer giving them a shock lead only served to awaken Arsenal, who went from a very flat display to one where they came at the visiting side from all angles. That eventually resulted in a rousing 3-1 win, although one that was more difficult than it might have been.
